SCIATICA PAIN RELIEF

How Can a SciatiCoach Treat my Sciatic Nerve Pain?

SciatiCoach was created for people with a specific kind of sciatica pain that can be treated by live video coaching and guided self-treatment at home. Not all kinds of sciatic nerve pain will respond to self-treatment, but the most common often will. Some types of sciatica need to be treated in person with the physical help of a healthcare provider.

Our proprietary questionnaire can predict if your sciatica is likely to respond to video coaching and guided self-treatment, using answers to specific questions about your sciatic pain. The questionnaire takes just minutes to complete, there are no expensive x-rays or MRI’s needed, and there is no required maintenance or long-term commitment.

You may be able to treat your sciatica pain at home and finally get the relief you need!

What is Sciatica and How is it Treated?

Sciatica is low back pain that radiates down the back of one or both legs. One of the most common causes of sciatic nerve pain is a herniated disc which puts pressure on the sciatic nerve.
Many sciatica cases can be relieved with guided self-treatment at home using the McKenzie Method. This can be provided using video coaching by a qualified health care professional.

If your SciatiCoach Screening Questionnaire indicates that you are a good candidate for sciatica video coaching, you will be given the opportunity to make a video chat appointment with a trained SciatiCoach. During your coaching session, your SciatiCoach will guide you through movements and exercises designed specifically to relieve your unique lower back and leg pain.

If you are not a good candidate for video coaching by a SciatiCoach, we will refer you to a qualified healthcare professional in your area for in-person sciatica treatment.

What is the McKenzie Method?

The McKenzie Method is an internationally recognized system for assessing, treating, and ultimately preventing spinal back pain, and the radiating extremity pain common with sciatica. This method is a partnership between you and your health provider, working closely together to identify the specific movements and postures that will be effective for you. The goal is to cause the pain to centralize (move away from the extremities toward the center of the spine) and then resolve.

Because the emphasis is on empowering the patient with guided self-care, the McKenzie Method can be used to help many sciatica sufferers through video chat, safely at home. There are no crowded doctor offices, and no expensive MRI’s or X-rays needed. Most importantly, the individualized McKenzie therapies developed with a Sciaticoach can help prevent further episodes of sciatica or decrease their severity.
